Recipes
Caveat #1: I only sort of use recipes or measure things. I certainly look at a lot of recipes, but I consider them jumping off points rather than strict guidelines. That’s part of the fun of cooking and how discoveries are made and ingredients that are lying around get used! However this means that most of these recipes are more like sort-of recipes. The measurements and cooking times are not really exact, but I hope they will provide usable guidelines and inspiration for creating your own dishes. And always remember, you know your tastes better than anyone else does, so if you really like a spice, add a bit more, if you can’t handle much sourness, add a bit less, and so on. Take charge!
Caveat #2: I am not very good with technology. Therefore, I cannot for the life of me figure out how I could isolate and link just to the recipe parts of my posts. So, these links go to the full posts. The (sort-of) recipes tend to be toward the bottom, but some of them are embedded within the posts. So, just pretend that I’m your grandma (well, except I’m in my late 20’s), hanging out in the kitchen with you and telling you stories and bits of philosophy while giving you cooking suggestions. Also, someday I will figure out how to do jumps, down to each category in this index. Today is not yet that day.

I looked and looked and never found the first recipe for the cinnamon and spice donut puff things. Where the heck is it?
It’s here: https://fiveandspice.wordpress.com/2011/12/20/spiced-cinnamon-sugar-breakfast-puffs/ Sorry you couldn’t find it!
I’ve frequented hundreds and hundreds of food blogs. This is one of the best – if not the best – I’ve seen. Thank you for all the work you’ve put into this site.
Wow, that is a huge compliment. Thank you so much!
Your blog is outstanding! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and wit!
Thanks!
If you ever figure out how to do jumps, please share. I can’t figure that one out either. I love your blog!
Thank you! I’ll certainly keep you posted. 🙂 I found some information explaining it, but I read it and just went cross eyed. I pretty much didn’t understand a word. So, I’m thinking it’ll have to wait until I can hire someone to do it for me!
This is an amazing blog … I am so excited by all your recipes that I’m having trouble not jumping into the car and speeding down to the market for ingredient-shopping madness! I love how you mix so many different food cultures into a beautiful blend. I can’t wait to try these! The cacio e pepe pizza might be the best thing I’ve ever heard of … tied with breakfast gnocchi!
Thank you! You’re too kind.
